Iron Fist Karate teaches traditional Shotokan karatefocusing on both kata (forms) and kumite (fighting). The class is focused on discipline and
respect, our athletes have a very high level of fitness.
At our dojo we also encourage our
students to compete, we have members on the provincial and national team. Our coaches are
licensed in Canada and internationally to coach in the World Karate Federation tournaments.
We train athletes starting at age 4 to join tournaments. Competition teaches you to be
confident, and resilient, and the unity of being a part of a team.
From ages 4 - 10 you can
compete on a recreational level within the province, starting at age 11 you may begin competing
at an elite level to make the provincial team. If you make the provincial team after gaining
points at the provincial qualifiers, you are allowed to attend the national championships. From
there you fight the top fighters across Canada to make the finishing podium to make the national
team.
Once you are on the national team you can compete across the world at various tournaments
